Boom boom boom

I'm really loving io9 now - just today I saw a few pics of explosive goodness:
The Navy's Explosive Super Weapon Crushes Speed Records
When Nano-Wires Explode
Massive Detonation Leaves A Permanent Scar

On a separate note, I just finished FFXII: Revenant Wings and I am quite disappointed. I usually like most game endings, but for some reason this one was unsatisfactory. And it doesn't help that the gameplay was kind of annoying as you're essentially playing RTS on a tiny TINY screen with dumb AI (pathing to be exact, and no HOLD - wtf is an rts with no hold? stupid units running around...) Ah well, I guess I expected a better ending due to the barely tolerable gameplay. Hit up their site for some gameplay footage if you want. They do also have some nice artwork on the site.

Been skimming through io9 lately and found these movie related links. I guess I should say spoiler alert?

The site also linked to two interesting things:

So cool

Johnny Chung Lee is smart. But why describe with words when you can just see for yourself what he recently did: Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote.

Imagine Keepon with EBA or something...

This thing is just too cool: Keepon, dancing beat toy. Another video of it interacting.

The more info about it can be found at the devs' sites: Hideki Kozima at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology in Japan and Marek P Michalowski from the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.

Hmmmm

I just got this video (Web 2.0 ... The Machine is Us/ing Us) from a friend and after watching that, I watched these 2 responses (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAVmB5dKZZ8&watch_response and for the grad students out there, Research 2.0). I can't say I agree with some of the profs in the 2nd vid.... but what do I know :/ (haha, emoticons :P)
